  1. Great to see Fanny live again. And also Alice, behind the drums again. Did a good job after all these years. It is a pity that the YouTube videos are of lesser quality (talking through the music). Hope to see more from Dave Habeeb on Vimeo.

    1. The YouTube videos were shot by me and were meant to tide us all over until official videos are released, and yes, I’m aware of the audio quality but it’s better than nothing at the moment. Lots going on behind the scenes as you may expect. More to come.

  2. Bryon! Thanks so much for providing the videos that you shot. It was so cool for us East Coast folks to see the triumphant return of Fanny to the Whiskey stage! Love Brie’s little growl/howl !!(“Do that again Brie!”) Obviously, we can name most everyone on stage, but who was the 2nd bass player in pink all the way to the right? Some great bass runs. šŸ™‚
And we all miss the podcast too, but greatly understand the time commitment….

    1. That awesome bass player was Mia Huggs. She is a former student of June’s IMA rock classes. Mia nailed Jean’s original bass lines. Lot more to see from her as she’s only 23, so I hope she has a long career ahead of her.

  3. Love seeing and hearing Fanny playing and rockin. Thanx for posting the clip.I will continue to follow..

  4. Four virtuosos on their instruments. No wonder Geoff Emerick called them ā€˜brilliant musiciansā€™. June could rock n roll, finger pick on acoustic, play slide. Her studio acumen is also revealed thru the fantastic sound of her guitars and choice of amps. Jean played awesome bass, from rock n roll to funk to Motown. She and Paul McCartney are my fav bass players, both could play melodic and heavy. Nickey added a facet to their music that expanded their musical arsenal- Rock keyboards (piano/organ) infused with Blues and jazz syncopation. Aliceā€™s superb talent was obvious the moment a song began, her timing was exquisite. She could play very heavy handed and powerfully drive a song forward, and at other times play with incredible dexterity. (And what I especially appreciated about both June and Alice is that they played their instruments in a way that fit a particular song).

They wrote, they played, they sang, they toured, they cut albums. They did all this while being the point of the spear. Thank goodness for the internetā€¦ the world is getting to know Fanny.

  5. Hey Everyone, I came to your music via Barbra Streisand. Your amazing work on her Barbra Joan Streisand album. I volunteer in a charity record shop and we had a copy of the Flexi disc sampler that fans regularly credit for giving them their first exposure to you as an amazing band. Thanks to Wikipedia I have found and ordered your music. I bought ā€œRock and Roll Survivorsā€ in a record shop the other and the staff were raving about the music. Thank you for then, thank you for now. It is truly beautiful that you have worked to make your genius music available to new fans like me and future generations. Xxxxxx
